President & President-Elect Qualifications & Requirements:

A nomination for President-Elect is a 3-year commitment, as the nominee will spend their first-year training as President-Elect, the second-year serving as President, and the third-year as Past-President, Chapter Champion and advisor.

A CREW Charleston member interested in serving as CREW Charleston President-Elect is eligible for nomination and consideration once the following criteria have been met:

  1. At least 3 years of service to CREW Network by serving on the Board of Directors for a CREW Network Chapter in good standing as of the end of the year of application. 

  2. At least 1 year of service on the CREW Charleston Board of Directors as of the end of the year of application.

  3. In addition, if a member has met the criteria listed above in #1 & #2 within the contiguous past 5 years, and though not currently occupying a Board Chair, is currently serving in a strategic position assigned and recognized by the Board of Directors by the end of the year of application, they will be qualified for nomination. 

  4. Regular attendance of CREW Charleston functions and Board of Directors meetings.

  5. Donation of at least $25 annually to CREW Foundation. 

Please do not apply or accept nomination if you will not be able to fulfill the travel obligations of this role for the 3-year term, specifically the President-Elect training hosted by CREW Network, typically in Q4 of each year. If the nominee is unable to attend President-Elect training that person will forfeit the position as President-Elect and a special election will be held to select the replacement. 

Description of Roles:

President
The President is responsible for leadership of the board of directors. It is critical that the President lead with strategic vision and moderate meetings of the board of directors with clear direction. They should understand the CREW Network brand and the importance of connecting with the resources at CREW Network in order to lead with best practices, etc.

  1. Incoming President will create a list of their goals for each Board Chair’s committee at the beginning of their term, so the Advisory Committee Mentor and the Board Chair are aware of expectations. 

President-Elect:
In the absence of the president of your chapter, the president-elect shall preside at all meetings of the chapter, meetings of the board of directors, and execute any other duties as    requested by the board of directors:

  1. Serve as a "right hand" to the president and provide assistance when needed with any of the president's duties

  2. Serve as the CREW Network Delegate (see CREW Network Delegate description) keeping the board of directors as well as the chapter members abreast with all the happenings at CREW Network and with the other CREW Network chapters

  3. Participate in the evaluation and review of the strategic plan at least once each year

  4. Assist in the planning and organizing of a "transition meeting" to provide training and introduction for incoming board members and committee chairs

  5. Attend each monthly board of directors meeting

Chapter Champion:
The Chapter Champion is responsible for promoting CREW Network Foundation fundraising efforts by inspiring chapter members and chapter board leadership to support the Foundation through individual donations, special chapter fundraising and campaigns throughout the year. Their mission is to inspire and educate members about CREW foundation's four (4) program funds: CREW Network Foundation scholarships, Industry Research, UCREW, and Career Outreach. 

The Chapter Champion role is typically fulfilled by the Past President. The Chapter Champion reports to the CREW Network Champion Director who serves as the liason between the local chapter and CREW Network Foundation. These are typically broken up into small groups of 6-8 chapters based on region. The CREW Network Champion Director organizes monthly zoom calls with the Chapter Champions to share updates and best practices.

The Chapter Champion is the driving force to ensure CREW Charleston meets the Chapter Challenge Trifecta goal which is met by achieving the following items:

  • 100% Board of Directors Giving (minimum of $25.00)

  • 50% Membership Giving (minimum of $25.00)

  • Chapter Donation (minimum of $1,000)
